Safety Precautions to take note of prior to practising the LilynageⓇ Self-Massage Method.
LilynageⓇ is a Self-Care method to optimize the health and well-being of healthy individuals.
If you are currently undergoing active treatment for any medical illness, please seek advice and permission from your physician prior to practising LilynageⓇ.
Medical Contraindications to LilynageⓇ
1st trimester of pregnancy (before the pregnancy has reached its stable state)
Osteoporosis
Thrombosis
Injured areas (such as fractures or sprains)
Infectious Diseases
Undergoing active treatment (such as Chemotherapy)
Heart disease/Congestive Heart Failure
Malignant disease such as Cancer
*Or other medical conditions that may worsen once the circulation improves in your body
To be cautious if:
Starting to have symptoms of Flu
Background of Hypertension or Hypotension
Active skin disease such as eczema, burns, open wounds (to avoid these areas)
Under the influence of alcohol (to avoid massage directly after drinking alcohol)
Currently taking medications
Pacemaker inserted
Chronic Kidney Disease (reduced kidney function)
Pregnant (past 1st trimester)
Menstruating
If you are currently undergoing treatment for a medical condition at a hospital, it is important to
check with your Physician if it is safe to undergo a massage that will result in improved circulation within your body.
Physical effects that can occur to your body after the massage
Depending on conditions such as lack of sleep, pre-existing poor circulation of the body, dehydration, or current medications that you are consuming, bruising that can occur after the massage
With changes to the blood circulation, symptoms such as headache, lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, and vomiting may occur
There may be an increase in urination and bowel movements as the circulation in the body improves and waste needs to be eliminated.
There may be some muscle aches experienced as certain muscles that you do not frequently use may be stimulated during this massage. Such muscle aches should resolve within a few days.
What should you do if you experience adverse side effects after the massage?
In the event that you experience adverse symptoms such as (e.g. muscle ache, nausea, headache), these should resolve within a few days.
If the discomfort is difficult to bear, analgesic medications may be taken. It is also advisable to increase your intake of water and to rest your body as much as possible.
If your symptoms do not resolve after a few days or if they worsen, you may wish to seek medical attention and treatment with your Physician.

The effects experienced on the body will differ based on the individual.
In order to improve the circulation of blood and lymph within the body, we recommend that you drink adequate amounts of water as you carry out the LilynageⓇ massage.
In order to reduce skin discomfort due to massage, we would recommend the use of a massage cream while performing the LilynageⓇ massage such as RU:KRM Cream that has been specially developed by Lily (the founder of LilynageⓇ) to allow for a smooth and enjoyable Self-Massage experience.
